Organisation of the guided tours

The Associació Passatges de Cultura Contemporània in collboration with Dynamics initiative organise this summer a guided tour to the main points of the passage of Walter Benjamin (Berlin, 1892 - Portbou 1940) in the village and the  Passages Memorial by Dani Karavan at the cementery.

 

 

The purpose of the tour is to discover the last passage of this philosopher who committed suicide in Portbou on 26th September 1940, shortly after a strenous crossing of the Pyrenees on foot. Benjamin realised he was going to be repatriated. So, he was fleeing to the United States. Morover, the tour offers an explanation of the work Passages by Dani Karavan. 

Schedule:  August 2016, every day.  By appointment. September 2016: Weekends, by appointment.

Meeting point: Portbou Tourist Office (in front of Portbou bay). 

Duration of the visit: 60  minutes.

Price: 5 euros per person. 

Mínimum nº of visitors: 5 people.

Language: Catalan, Spanish, French or English.
